The BAYHAM ESTATE
The jewel of Elgin County, this landmark 62-acre lakefront property rises up from Lake Erie’s pristine north shore, “The Golden Coast”, offering exceptional privacy and natural beauty. The location offers beaches, sandy dunes, magnificent sunsets and star-filled nights.
Guests will enjoy an ideal blend of tranquil gardens, forests and meadows abundant with wildlife and century-old trees — all surrounded by vast swaths of corn fields and provincial parkland and accessed by a one mile private road.
Designed by famed Los Angeles architect Arthur W. Hawes, the main building, a magnificent 1930s French Normandy Chateau was spared no expense: there’s exquisite stonework, stained glass, and hand carved antique paneling imported from France. To this day, the house retains its exquisite European character and entering this property is going back in time to the era of grand living. In the future, The Chateau will feature a whiskey & wine bar, billiard room and other amenities in a private club atmosphere. Guest chefs will use the restaurant quality kitchen, outdoor grills and pizza oven to support our guests' desire for events and gatherings in a rustic yet refined French country environment.
In addition to the spectacular chateau, the property boasts an array of 7 heritage buildings including cottages, houses and 5,000 square foot stables which the current owners plan to convert to a club house with gym and spa amenities. In the future, the buildings will host exclusive yoga and wellness retreats, art and creative spaces, live music and an exclusive theatre venue.
